ACCP Level II Renewal Requirements

If you are not a member and would like to join ASNT or would like to renew your membership during the application process, you will need to purchase membership prior to beginning the application. Join or renew to receive discounted price on your certification application.

All documentation can be attached and submitted digitally in the online application. It is imperative that you thoroughly review the qualifications for the certification and attach the appropriate verification forms. Scan original documents for upload. Print, manually complete, and scan additional forms for upload.

If any portions are not complete and/or required documentation not submitted, your application will not be considered for approval.

 

*All renewal and recertification ACCP applications received by 31 August 2023 will follow the ACCP certification scheme and be issued an ACCP certification.  After this date, only ASNT 9712 certification applications will be accepted.

Renewal by Application

Renewal by application is allowed every other certification period (10 years).

ASNT certificates expire on the last day of the month listed on the certificate.  Applications must be submitted with payment before the expiration date to be considered.

Requirement 1

Continued active employment in Level II, performing functions as related to the method(s) for which renewal is sought. Such employment must have covered at least 36 months during the valid certification period, but not necessarily 36 consecutive months. At least 12 of the 24 months immediately preceding the expiration of the certification must have been spent in Level II functions.

Requirement 2

ASNT requires a current copy of your signature on file.

Requirement 3

This certification requires the submission of a color photo. Photo must be a passport or license-style headshot. Photos may be taken on devices such as a personal digital camera, cell phone or webcam. Preferred format is .jpg (.gif or .png also accepted)

Requirement 4

During the application process, provide your current address for certification material delivery. (If you provide a non-U.S. address in the online application, you may have the option to have the National Sponsoring Organization (NSO) in that region receive your certification materials and then either hold for pick up or forward to your application address.)

Renewal by Examination

Renewal by exam is required every other certification period (10 years), prior to the expiration date of the current certification.

Requirement 1

Successful completion of practical examination(s).

Requirement 2

ASNT requires a copy of your signature on file. Provide your current signature in dark blue or black ink.

In order to be admitted to the exam center, two (2) valid forms of identification are required, with at least one photo identification

Complete name and correct spelling of name on identification must match the certification application name. If the name on your identification does not match that on your ASNT record, then log into MyASNT and update your name, or contact ASNT.

Valid photo identification includes:

  • Current passport
  • Current driver’s license
  • Current state or government issue identification card

Other acceptable identification includes:

  • Work identification (photo, name)
  • Utility with address of record
